Description: The show focuses on 3 characters and their antics through life. Jessie Custer is a violent  Texas preacher who has unexpectedly been given "Genesis" - the power of God - which makes people do anything he says. Cassidy, a vampire he met seeking refuge from the sun in his church and Tulip, his cannibal ex-girlfriend accompany him as they seek to give Genesis back to God....if they can find him.
Relationships:
 - Each season looks at different types of relationships. Season 1 focuses on rebuilding lost relationships, starting friendship and the devotion to friendships through the relationship between the two angels.
 - Season two looks at loss - when looking at how one angel copes with the loss of his partner - also looks at the relationship between obsessive relationships and strains on sexual relationship and trust.
 - Season three focuses heavily on family relationships and their complexity showing that family relationships can be the hardest to deal with. Also looks at the hardships of letting people go and the relationship a person can have with their faith.
Identity:
 - Shows how weird life is and forces people to see the more odd people in the world and how to handle them
 - Helps the audience to see their own relationships within the show and characters in it, which may help to see what they may be doing wrong and help them.
 - Shows the power of obsession, worship and obedience and how that can have a negative effect on people.
Diversion:
 - Escapism into a world of the supernatural with all the powers and mythical creatures
 - Aesthetic enjoyment
 - Emotional release - A way for some audience members to release stress and anger
Surveillance:
 - Getting a look into another world
 - Meeting new and scary characters without having to actually meet e.g the devil and Herr Starr.

Legion:

Genre(s): Sci-fi, psychological thriller, psychological horror, superhero fiction and drama.
  Number of seasons: 2
First episode date: 8th February 2017
  Still running?: Yes
  Running time: 44-68 minutes
  IMDB rating: 8.4/10
  Producer(s): Brian Leslie Parker
Network(s): FX (US) and Fox (UK)
Production company(s): 26 Keys Productions, The Donner's Company and Bad Hat Harry Productions
  Distributor(s): 20th Television
Description: David Haller was diagnosed with schizophrenia at a young age and has been a patient at various psychiatric hospitals since, but when he encounters a new patient Sydney (Syd) and it turns out she works for a group of mutants called Summerland which help David escape, does he still believe he's schizophrenic or will he believe he's actually a powerful mutant.
Relationships
 - Gripping episodes and a core basis in the X-Men mythos can make this show anyone's best friend, especially comic and superhero fans.
 -  Not the normal type of water cooler drama, it does put light on mental health and gets people to talk about it.
 - A lot of relatable characters in the show, from David's low self esteem in the beginning of the show, Syd's reluctance to human contact, to Ptonomy Wallace's reluctance to trust new people the show offers a wide range of characters.
Identity
 -  The relatable characters make the show more compelling to people to the point where they can sympathise with the characters struggles and apply some things to their own lives.
 - Gives the audience an idea of how to act in certain situations they may go through life, especially stressful situations.
 - The unconventional relationships show that things aren't always perfect in relationships. David and Syd can't touch each other, Melanie Bird has to deal with her lost husband, and when he does come back with no memory of their relationship he disappears again, Cary and Kerry Loudermilk can't physically be in the room at the same time but have to delegate time to live to each other.
Diversion
 - Aesthetic enjoyment - by far my favourite show to watch just for the aesthetics, especially with its random diversions into dance sequences and moments of horror.
 - Escapism because the audience enters a whole new world, leaving their problems and issues behind.
 - filling time - not that it's boring, but if watching a whole season it needs a lot of attention to watch, observe and learn.
Surveillance
 - By watching the audience gets to know how to deal with certain situations in their own lives.
 - Can relate to the characters and see which character they're most like to allow some self-reflection
 - Getting a look into another world.

After being found alive 5 years later, Oliver isn't the same as he was before. The show follows who he's now become while slowly unraveling what actually happened on the island. But who has he become....what has he become.
Relationship
 - Focuses a lot on family relationships, managing grief
 - A basis of conversation and social interaction - especially with the controversially violent scenes
 - Identify with others/characters and gain a sense of belonging. e.g Thea's drug and Detective Lance's alcohol issues and over coming them.
Identity:
 - Reinforcing how they live and conduct their lives
 - Finding and reinforcing their values and morals. e.g murder and accountability is a huge topic throughout the show.
 - Relating to characters and being able to see and evaluate how they act around others.
Diversion:
 - Escaping from problems and issues going on
 - Filling time - definitely not the best show on TV, it rarely fails to impress comic book and superhero fans.
 - Emotional release - The tense nature of some episodes and their violent nature often makes the seasons and sometimes episodes an emotional roller-coaster.
Surveillance:
 - Getting an look into another world and the morals that can be applied to our own
 - Self-education
