M1 - Strengths and weaknesses of my ideas.

Idea No.1 - The Squad/Superzeroes/Super0es
What it is:
This is a mockumentary about a group of real life superhero's and the not so dangerous but expensive, stressful, daft and often dull life they live.
Strengths:
- Capitalises on the trend of the superhero popularity
- There's nothing currently on TV like this
- Already has a target audience with fans of  Parks and recreation, The Office, Modern Family and Brooklyn Nine-Nine
- Would almost definately attract the desired target audience, especially with the BBC because of all the different types of comedy on show
- The diverse cast because of the characters' race, gender, age and physical ability achieves the BBC's goals
Weaknesses:
- Can run out of material (jokes and storylines) really quickly
- Might not be popular because it might be seen as a sketch show with no solid story-line
- Jokes, characters and material could be dated or just not funny by people
- Relies heavily on characters and the situations, balancing a group of roughly 10 characters can be challenging especially with all the story-lines that can be happening

Idea No.3 - The perks of mental health/Issues/
What is it?/synopsis:
- A show that follows the highs and lows of a student with depression as he moves to his new school for 6th form and tries to fit in and finds other students with other forms of mental health issues.
Strengths:
- A lot of people can relate or be interested with it because of the topic subject, realistic characters and a look at both good and bad things about mental health
- There's not many shows on TV like this so gaining a mass audience is likely to happen
- A diverse cast with different issues and characteristics which allows more people to relate to the characters
Weaknesses:
- There's not much on TV like it, maybe there's a reason for that, perhaps TV channels know that this type of show won't work with audiences
- Is a very sensitive subject for some people and they might see the jokes and content as offensive
- Isn't going to be a honest representation of depression because there's so many different types of depression that showing off all of them in one of a few characters is nearly impossible

Idea No.5 - Asylum/Foreign/Imposters/travellers
What is it?/Synopsis:
A show following three different storylines: The Banda's who are a family from war torn Libya and are trying to make their way to the UK, through the use of human traffickers. However, the family get separated when the oldest child doesn't go on the journey with them and stays in the African country. The show follows what the Banda's do and see on their journey as well as what the oldest child "Baiyete" does in his country. It also follow the lives of the Walker's, a British family living in Kent and how all their lives, opinions and views are constantly changing with the constant flood of migrants coming into the country.
Strengths:
- Raises awareness for the topics brought up.
- People become more concerned about the issues because of seeing a realistic, gritty and sad look into some of the things that fleeing migrants go through.
- Diverse cast to allow a bigger chance for more people to relate to the characters.
- Various ongoing storylines to keep viewers entertained and interested, especially with how all the characters are going to meet each other.
Weaknesses:
- Filming in locations such as Libya and some European countries won't be a possibility with a low budget.
- Might not be really accurate in terms of the experiences that migrants actually go through and also the politics might not be too accurate when filming political speeches and the history of Libya.
