Who is in the film?

Ruqaiya

Ruqaiya will be playing the role of Sam Ashraff: a relentless, strong willed and intelligent feminist who tries to get her message of equality across using a calm and relaxed approach. She'll be wearing a loose denim jacket, tattoo sleeves, loose cloths and will have nose and ear piercings. She'll also have either short and/or dyed hair. Ruqaiya fits the aesthetic I was going for and her personality in real life is similar to Sam's attitude in the film. The biggest problem is her lack of any drama and acting experience may hinder the portrayal and feel that I want Sam to have.

Diana will be taking the role of Laura Faye: a girl who knows how to push peoples buttons and get them angry and agitated without even thinking about it. A fierce and sarcastic character, Laura is not a girl you want to get in an argument with as you’re very much likely to lose miserably, so a strong and confident verbal fighter is the only person that can truly challenge her. She'll have a clean and simple look with minimal make up, shoulder length hair, a gold necklace and a plain T-shirt with jeans and a jacket. One of the people I had in mind when I was thinking of Laura's looks was Diana which means she already looks the part but like Ruqaiya, her lack of experience in acting may hinder the feel and tone I want Laura to have, in addition as a Latvian native and frequently visiting the country on holidays, she might still have a slight accent which would take away a layer of Laura's character as she's intended to be a racist who doesn't want foreigners migrating to the UK, but her having an accent would seem contradictory.

I'll need to give both actresses a concert form, I'll print it off and give it to them before the first filming session to sign.

Where is it being shot?

After meeting up with the owner and looking around at the facilities in "The Sparrow" beer cafe in Bradford on the 14th of March 2018, I was happy to confirm that it will be the main setting of the film and the bar in which Sam and Laura will have their conversation. I'll be filming in the basement which will help with the continuity especially since we'll likely be filming on different days and different times of the day. The space and tables in the basement is sufficient enough to film and has the right aesthetic to what I envisioned although I did intend it to be near a window.
